Bai Dinh and Trang An Adventure – July 31, 2025

On July 31st, Anna and Bello continued their Ninh Binh journey with a visit to Chua Bai Dinh, a sprawling temple complex holding Vietnam and Southeast Asian records. The vast Tam The and Phap Chu halls left us in awe, though we skipped the pricey tram, walking felt more authentic!

After a hearty lunch, we headed to Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, where a boat ride through Hang Lam, Hang Vang, Hang Thanh Truot, and Hang Dai felt like gliding through another Ha Long Bay. We stopped at spiritual spots like Cao Son Temple and Suoi Tien Temple, and the lush valleys and fish-filled streams were pure magic.

The highlight? Spotting the Kong: Skull Island filming location, a 2-hectare valley that doubled as the movie’s village, with basic remade props like a boat-plane and tribal huts. It wasn’t movie-perfect anymore, but posing for pics was a blast. The karst landscapes and rivers, once a shield for ancient Hoa Lu, added a historic layer to the fun. Back in Hanoi by 7:30 PM, we were tired but thrilled.
